Level: Dam release, although there was less lubrication than last time we ran it.
Today was the day to nut up and shut up! Moriston time, YEEEEEEEEEAH!!...
Another very scottish day dawned over invermoriston as we made our way to the Gun Club, mad crazy dubstep blazing to make us good at boating (think it was by some french guy called madeon...)
After a quick browse of the many shineys on offer we got changed ready to rip the shit out of the Moriston.
As the pro veterans, Me and Moon blasted the river first to show Burgers and Roddy what they were in for and of course we totally nailed it, cheeky traditional upside down moment for me below top drop but other than that a clean run.
After a quick stop below the get out to watch some of the unfolding carnage we walked back to the get in for another run, this time with Burgers and Roddy joining us.
After hitting the eddy of no return above top drop, Moon went first to show where the line was, i followed next and with the help of an almighty high brace (not reccomended) manged to stay upright. Burgers ran next with a cheeky bit of downtime and a roll to bring him into the eddy below. Roddy went next, but missed his line resulting in a munching and being flipped.
Seeing he was struggling to roll and im such a nice person, i went to T rescue poor Roddy only to have him push me down the next rapid backwards... Harsh Roddy, harsh..
This got me flipped and when i rolled up, i found poor Roddy out of his boat swimming down the next stoppery section clutching one blade of his snapped paddles, only to then have his boat pinned on a rock below. Once we got roddy to the side we set about freeing his boat. Wouldnt be the Moriston without a nice bit of carnge to keep things interesting.
Due to rattling his elbow hard, roddy walked off at this point. Myself, Moon and Burgers carried on to the next drop. Simple breif, hammer it left and a good boof will send you clear of the sticky stopper on the right. Nailed by all.
The finale of the run is a long continuous section where you can pick your own line, however some will be more of a bump. We hit the usual slide down the left through a hole, over to river right to blast few a final few stopper waves. A good run all round.
We manged to squeeze in another run with Hogg just before Elliot and Baird arrived.
Once they were changed we headed back to the get in for another run. This final run was pretty uneventful, couple of roll's for elliot and some carnage with Burgers missing his line to get a clip round the ear from a rock, the only casualty was keiths lens which he dropped in the river while taking snaps.
Another fine blast on the Upper, still remains my favourite river in Scotland!
