Paddlers: Moon's, Baird's, Cox's and Knox's
Level:
Humping, 1.5 on WTW. At the get in the pebble beach where you normally launch of was all covered so you pretty much launch in between the trees
Description:
At this level forget your river runner/creeker and bring your play boat. Waves, whirlpools and stoppers galore, you're in for an epic run. The first two waves are some of the best river waves i've ever surfed on, clean, lots of power, steep but yet not ass kicking. The rest of the run waves all over the show and some pretty meaty stoppers. Broken weir turns into a massive stopper on the right which will flush out, grade three corner with island in the middle doesn't have an island in the middle instead it turns into a massive wave train. The slot at the mill is no longer a slot but be wary of going right as it does go into tress. Weir at the end can be and was run but best inspect before hand
Not for beginners/people lacking in confidence/not got a solid roll at this height. A swim will be long with very little eddies to get swimmer and kit in.

Aye, when we did it at this level, the only real eddie was after the island, but even then you haad to not funk up to get it....although another person we paddled with swam there and lost their boat.

A faff free outing for a change for the DUCC. River was running very low which made for a bumpy run in places. Recommended as a nice progression river for last years freshers but a bit more water would have made for a better run. That being said still a decent grade 3 with some great scenery to take in.
At this level the weir just before the get out is unrunnable. eddie out river left, get out boats and drop down before paddling last rapid.
Other than a wet head for fergus and will surfing a wave at the get in nothing else to report.

Level: High on WtW About 1.3/4 on SEPA when we got there
Paddlers:
Alan K Dr Tom Jen Jack Bruce Craig Suzy W Dunny Roddy Elliot S Fergus Will
Description:
A brilliant intermediate trip full of biiiig wave trains, some small whirlpools that claimed a swim or two at the start, stoppers and some good play spots too. A sneaky stopper on the right channel of the end rapid gave Will a bit of a kick-if you do it at this level the left hand channel is fine, and if you stay more river right of the right channel you can avoid the stoppers.
Other
Alan and Jack found Nemo-unfortunately he'd been out of the water for a while and wasn't looking or smelling his best
A 8-10 year old boy addressed Jen as "sexy lady" and proceeded to perform a rather explicit dance to "I'm sexy and I know it" for all of us opposite the get out car park...Interesting.

Date: 17/05/12 Level: WTW said empty at 08:00 but the continued rain throughout the day would have had it sat somewhere around scrape/ the very bottom end of low ~ 0.9. Paddlers A Team: Andy Smart (c) Swavin Gavin Heriott Ross Elliot Sizer Elliot Melville Chatlotte Tanya Natalie Team Jack: Jack Thor Keef Dexter Anna Lesley After some epic faff (as always) when it was discovered some penis had stolen the club straps and not returned them, a very kind intervention from Dr Thomas and Robbie lending straps to the cause and thus saving the day, we were on our way to the Ericht, via the bakery obvs. Jack's group set off first with the aim of practicing ferry gliding tekkers. It were successful, until Anna cut her edge wrong on an eddy line, going under and taking a face bashing due to the scrapey levels. Swim was ensued and a cracking golf-ball on the forehead and a cut lip for her troubles. Credit to Anna she finished the river and the group went swim-free for the remainder of t'river. Over in Team Andy things were more eventful, with swims for Natalie and a stuck paddle having to be fished out by Ross mid-way down the river. There were clean runs for a very smiley Charlotte and Tanya on their first trip to the Ericht The same cannot be said for Sizer however, who managed two impressive swims. First coming off one of the rapids in the second half of the river, catching an unsighted rock amongst the white water and being flipped, the second eddying out at the get out resulting in his paddles running down the river and somehow being found by detective Smart. Other Notable Events: The day was completed in very sad circumstances. We had acquired a friendly dog in the get out car park who was running around and being an exciteddogLAD. When his stupid, lazy, incompetant, inbred, judas goat of an owner decided to come out her house and find her dog that had been running around for some half an hour she decided she would try and win herself a nomination for the Darwin Awards. With two lanes of traffic between her house and the dog, instead of going across and putting a lead on the doggeh she decided she would simply shout it over to her. Excited dogLAD obliged by running to its masters call into the path of oncoming traffic. Thankfully the driver of the van was fast on the breaks and despite hitting the dog, he casually barrell-rolled and ran off to go play some more, seemingly unharmed, before returning home. The retarded owner then decided to launch a tirade of abuse at the driver, who was clearly not at fault, before going back into her house. luckily the driver was quick to react and the dog was fine. All in all a fun days paddling for the intermediates and a good warm-up to the forthcoming Etive weekend. . . and no need for a Suitcase.

Paddlers:
Big Steve Dr. T Tampon Ali Elliot" Tampon finder" Melville Tom Hodge Callum Hotchkiss
Level: Low, Beach at the get in was mostly covered but only just.
Not much to report, a nice end to the first days paddling of 2013. Levels were fairly uneventful so meant we could play as we went down the river. Big Steve had a swim on the first rapid after the fisherman's corner resulting in many jokes from Thomas and myself, which he took in his stride to his credit.
On the way home we found a take away that served chippy style food as well as a full selection of Chinese food. Result!
